To seek approval to procure an architect led design team, as well as a principal contractor to carry out required works at Abbots Hall Primary School to return the school back to a 2FE Primary school which would provide an additional 210 school places once full.  Early design scoping & feasibility studies are underway at the time of writing this report, with initial indications showing that this project will have an estimated provisional total value of £2M inclusive of Architects fees and disbursements, tentative early negotiations with the Academy have established that part of this sum could potentially be offset by the academy if existing school CIF bid applications are successful.

The report also seeks approval to build capacity in the planning areas where there is a current and forecasted need to provide additional primary school places.
