To approve as a correct record the minutes of General Services Committee meeting held on 3 August 2020.

The minutes of the General Services Committee meeting held on 3 August 2020 were approved as a correct record.

To receive additional items that the Chair is of the opinion should be considered as a matter of urgency, in accordance with Section 100B (4) (b) of the Local Government Act 1972.

There were no items of urgent business.

There were no declarations of interest.

At 6.03pm the Committee agreed to enter exempt session due to the committee discussing individual applications for the roles.

The committee discussed the longlist of candidates for two positions (Assistant Director for Children’s Social Care & Early Help and Assistant Director for Planning, Transport and Public Protection), agreeing a shortlist to be progressed for future deliberation and assessment.

The Committee felt that the Assistant Director of Economic Development and High House Production Park role required further discussion before deliberations could be taken on the longlist of candidates.

RESOLVED that:

1.    The shortlists for the roles of Assistant Director of Children’s Social Care & Early Help and Assistant Director of Planning, Transport and Public Protection be progressed for further assessment.

2.    The Role of Assistant Director of Economic Development and High House Production Park be held for further discussion.
