3.

New Application for a Private Hire Driver Licence

Minutes:

The Chair, Councillor Maney moved that public and press be excluded from the meeting in the interest of protecting exempt information. The Members unanimously agreed and all but the first applicant left the Chamber.

 

The Chair asked the Licensing Officer to present the Factual Report for the first application to be heard, Item 4 of the Agenda.

 

The Chair asked if Members had any questions for the Licensing Officer. There were none. The Chair then asked if the applicant had any questions for the Licensing Officers. The applicant stated he did not have any questions and the Chair invited the applicant to present his case to the Committee.

 

The Chair then asked if the Licensing Officers had any questions for the applicant and the Officers indicated they did not. The Chair then opened to Members questions.

 

The Chair then invited Officers to summarise their case.

 

The Chair asked the applicant to summarise his case.

 

The Sub-Committee adjourned at 7.23pm for deliberation and were accompanied by the Legal Advisor and the Democratic Services Officer. 

 

The meeting reconvened at 7.34pm

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the Licensing Sub-Committee refused the application.

 

At 7.35pm, Applicant 1 (Agenda Item 4) left the Council chamber.

 

At 7.39pm, Applicant 3 and Representative for Applicant 3 (Agenda Item 6) entered the Council chamber.

New Application for Hackney Carriage / Private Hire Driver Licence

Minutes:

The Chair asked the Licensing Officer to present the Factual Report for the third application to be heard, Item 6 of the Agenda, as the second applicant (Item 5) was not yet present.

 

The Chair asked if the applicant or Members had any questions for the Licensing Officers. The applicant stated he did not.

 

The Chair then invited Officers to summarise their case.

 

The Chair asked the applicant to summarise his case.

 

The Sub-Committee adjourned at 8.03 pm for deliberation and were accompanied by the Legal Advisor and the Democratic Services Officer. 

 

The meeting reconvened at 8.18pm

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the Licensing Sub-Committee approved the application.

 

At 8.25pm, Applicant 2 (Agenda Item 6) left the Council chamber.

New Application for a Private Hire Driver Licence

Minutes:

The Chair deferred this item until the next meeting as the applicant had not attended.
