Admissions Forum
The Admissions Forum deals with all issues surrounding the admission of children into schools. For example, the Forum explores reintegration matters and the quality of information provided to parents when applying to schools, amongst other things. This meeting is open to the public.

Cabinet
The Cabinet comprises of the Leader of the Council and seven other Councillors, each of whom has a specific area of responsibility (known as a portfolio). The Cabinet makes decisions affecting the Borough and makes recommendations to Council on overall policy direction. This meeting is open to the public, although in considering some items of business, the press and public may be requested to leave the meeting. The Public may submit petitions relevant to matters which Cabinet has responsibility for and which affect the Authority or it's area.

Council
The Council comprises of all 49 Members and fulfils a number of functions. It convenes monthly and has responsibility for approving the Council’s policies, including the budget and receives petitions, as well as updates from other committees. Members of the public are welcome to ask one question at a meeting of the Council. This meeting is open to the public, and the public may ask questions of the Leader and Portfolio Holders, although in considering some items of business, the press and public may be requested to leave the meeting.

Standards Committee
The Standards Committee monitors the quality of internal practices, rules and procedures within the Council. The Committee insures that the roles of both councillors and officers are properly regulated. This meeting is open to the public, although in considering some items of business, the press and public may be requested to leave the meeting.
